Welcome to the new Bootcamp West blog. I'll be writing a blog each week, covering exercise tips, nutrition, workouts for all situations, interesting tidbits and much more. If there's anything you'd like to see on the weekly blog, drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org
This week, the topic is nutrition. Here's a nutrition tip that I recommend trying if you want to simplify your dietary choices. There's a lot of information (and mis-information) out there about what to eat, what not to eat etc. So much so, that it's easy to get lost and frustrated. Have you ever wondered 'What's the right diet for me?' What can you do to make your choices easier. Well, this tip is a great place to start. I like to keep it simple when it comes to dietary choices and exercise. Following this tip is not easy, but it's a sure way of eliminating lots of the bad choices from your weekly shopping list. 'Enough talk Paul, what is it?' I hear you say. Ok, without further ado, here it is:
Eat only foods that are made from 1 single ingredient
Simple isn't it. Think about it. Doing this means that you stick to foods like fruits, veg, eggs, milk, nuts & seeds, cheese, meat, fish, herbs & spices. In other words, you eat food that are in their natural state. No foods with a list of ingredients you don't understand. no more struggling with food labels and your body will soon see the effects. Try it for the next week of bootcamp, beginning Monday 7th February, and see what difference it makes come the end of the week.
Here's a copy of the food pyramid to help you make those single ingredient choices. Enjoy and look out for next weeks' blog post. Paul
